Shmoop is a wonderful resource for students of literature and US History. Shmoop provides condensed summaries of novels, short stories, and poetry.
The site divides its U.S. History resources into themes and major events in US History. While things are items are listed in chronilogical order, if a student is unsure where to look, they can used its's search tool. Students can use Shmoop for more than reading summaries. Users who create their own account can create folders to store their searches and sticky notes they create about what they read. They can also use the dictionary tool to define words they do not know.
Click on a number each day of December to reveal a Web 2.0 tool. You could peek early, but what is the fun in that?​
